Halloween Fun

Probably my favorite thing that Chad does with our children is his yearly quest to carve pumpkins. I love it. It makes them happy, they get gooey, they love the process...the planning, the scraping, the cutting, the goo, the tongues sticking out as they concentrate....and finally the finished product. Enjoy the pictures!

First we have Drew. There are many more pictures of him because he started first and the other boys had not come in from playing outside yet. Drew's masterpiece ended up being a carving of a "Ghostly Guest."

The next to start was Luke. His carving was of a mouse. I'm not sure why he chose the mouse, but he did. He did a good job. His was a little more intricate than the others.

Next was Evan. He decided that his pumpkin would last longer if he didn't carve it. So he chose to trace a carving on and color it with markers. Smart thinking.

Finally, little Gabriel took his turn. He waited so patiently. I wish I would have gotten a picture of him crying because he was gooey. I think of those things too late. Anyway, he got to the scraping part, and he was not impressed with the goo. He kept flipping it off his hands, which flipped it all over the kitchen and anyone within range! His ended up very nice, though. He chose to have Daddy help him carve a Kitty Cat.
